Stakeholder in the new wave, Vera Belmont is above all involved in the production of films. From 1967, she produces her first full-length film, directed by José Giovanni, entitled "The law of the survivor". In forty years of career, she produced more than thirty films, of which Quest for fire by Jean-Jacques Annaud, Fucking Fernand, of Gérard Mordillat, Farinelli of Gérard Corbiau, Memories of France, of André Téchiné and, lastly "The rest, aka la Trève" of ÒFrancesco Rosi with John Turturro. In 1977, Vera Belmont directs his first film, Mao's Prisoners. The film which her will become known of the French general audience as Director is doubtless Red to Kiss, released in 1985 with Charlotte Valandrey and Lambert Wilson. Her last film " Survive with wolves " obtains the best quota copies / distribution in France in 2008 among the US and French films. Today Stephan films develops a musical based on Cinderella's story.
